Regular Grand Chapter

In 2003 after the Sisters found out many of the Brothers were leaving their Grand Lodge. The ladies of Queen Esther Chapter No. 7 and Daughters of Electa decided wherever their Brothers were going, they would be going also. So the Sisters decided to leave our Grand Chapter. When we left, we didn’t have enough Sisters to form a Grand Chapter, so we started an O.E.S. Social Club and called it Grace and Elegance. In Grace and Elegance, we set the ground rules of how the next Grand Chapter would be ran. Every decision would be decided by a vote and we would obey our By-laws and Constitution once we had enough members to form a Grand Chapter. Once the Grand Lodge was established by the end of 2003, Grace and Elegance decided to form a new Grand Chapter. We decided that our Grand Chapters name should coincide with the Grand Lodge’s name which was Mt. Moriah, the place where King Solomon built his temple. So the Grand Chapter would be known as Saba Grand Chapter where The Queen of Sheba’s palace was located. Queen Esther chapter had 12 members, so we decided to split the chapter in half to form another Chapter to complete the Trinity to form the Grand Chapter, which involved Queen Esther, Worthy Matron Jackie Spicer and Worthy Patron Omar Dixon. Daughters of Electa changed their name to Corinthians. Worthy Matron Tonya Hurst, Worthy Patron Anthony Bridges and the new chapter from the split of Queen Esther formed Daughters of Kings, Worthy Matron LaTanya Jefferson and Worthy Patron Michael Clark. On March 27, 2004 Saba Grand Chapter was duly constituted as a Grand Chapter. Queen Esther Chapter No. 7 was aligned with Erskine Mullins Lodge No. 65, Daughters of Kings Chapter No. 5 was aligned with Pythagoras Lodge No. 1 and Corinthians Chapter No. 12 was aligned with Wilbert Brooks Lodge No. 62.

The first Elected Grand Matron was Most Worthy Sister Lillie Dix, first Elected Grand Patron Most Worthy Brother Aaron Belton, first elected Associate Grand Matron Past Worthy Sister Ricquia Hind, first elected Associate Grand Patron Past Master Brother Charner Lavigne Jr, first elected Grand Secretary Worthy Sister Jacqueline Spicer, and first elected Grand Treasurer Sis. LaTanya Jefferson, first elected Grand Conductress Worthy Sister Tonya Hurst, first elected Grand Associate Conductress Sister Anita Dix Lindsey, first elected Grand Marshall Sister Karen Belton, first appointed Grand Warder was Sister Silvia Nichols.  The constitution and By-Laws were written and established. After being elected and serving as Grand Matron for 4 yrs, in June of 2008 Most Worthy Grand Matron Sis. Lillie Dix stepped down as Grand Matron and the Associate Grand Matron PW Sis. LaTanya Jefferson assumed her duties. Past Worthy Sis. Shalynn Pickens (Grand Treasurer) was appointed to the Associate Grand Matron seat, Past Worthy Sis. Jacqueline Spicer (Grand Secretary) was appointed to the Grand Treasurers seat. Also that same year at the annual session Saba Grand Chapter’s name was changed by a unanimous vote of the Grand Chapter’s officers to the Regular Grand Chapter of Illinois and our Circle of Perfection is now known as Saba.

In 2009 Sister La Tanya Jefferson was elected Most Worthy Grand Matron & Brother Charner Lavigne was also the Elected Most Worthy Grand Patron at the time. June of 2010 PW Sis. LaTanya Jefferson was re-elected as Most Worthy Grand Matron. Brother Darren Willis was Elected Most Worthy Grand Patron. June of 2011 PW Sis. LaTanya Jefferson was re-elected as Most Worthy Grand Matron. Brother Brandon Mills was Elected Most Worthy Grand Patron. In June of 2012 PW Sis. Shalynn Pickens was elected to the Grand Matron seat and Brother Darren Willis was Elected Most Worthy Grand Patron. June 2013 they were both re-elected. As of today these are the chapters that are currently on our roll: Saphirra Chapter 1, Worthy Matron Faye Brown, Worthy Patron Jerry Harris. Destiny Chapter 2, Worthy Matron Marie Carr, Worthy Patron Randy Mason. Daughters of Kings Chapter 5 Worthy Matron Attronese Byrd, Worthy Patron Dwight Litzsey. Serenity Chapter 6, Worthy Matron Laticia Jones, Worthy Patron Eric Fench. Queen Esther Chapter 7, Worthy Matron Tanishia Rufus, Worthy Patron ?. Zillah Chapter 8, Worthy Matron Arnita Hodge, Worthy Patron Marvin Garrett. Corinthians Chapter 12.
